Introduction is an expression of introduction to know one's identity, we need to introduce ourselves to a clearer communication process with whom we talk, about what we are talking about and other conditions. There are two forms of introduction that is formal and informal.

·         Formal Introduction

A formal introduction is used when you introduce yourself in a formal room for example. Self in front of class, workroom, meeting room  and Official forums, such as seminars ,. Formal intakes are used in formal situations.

Example of formal Introduction :

·         Informal Introduction

Informal introduction is used when you introduce yourself to someone at about the same age with you. Informal introduction id used in a non formal situation. Usually used on unofficial events or forums, such as introductions when in public meet new friends or friends.

·         Example of  informal introduction :

Hi friends My name is Jack Ortiz. But please call me Jack or Carlitos. Carlitos is a Spanish name which means that Masculine in English. I was born in Texas on 31 October 1998. I am 18 years old. I live at Austin No. 40 Round Rock, Texas. I live with my parents. I am single and I am a student. I study at The University of Texas. I have taken a Business as my majoring.

 

·         Pronouns

Pronoun atau kata ganti adalah kata yang dapat menggantikan suatu kata benda atau frasa kata benda. Pronouns is a word that takes the place of a noun, such as: I, you, me, they, we, it,him, etc. example:

Alex wants to have many pen pals because He likes making friends. His pen pals come from many parts of the world. Mark introduces Him to Peter. Now, Pater becomes Alex’s pen pals. Peter likes Him because He has some interesting hobbies.

People usually add compliments when they congratulate someone. Compliment is an expression to appreciate or praise other people. Compliment is useful to give encouragement so that people will keep on doing their best and even improve their performance.

·         Congratulating

Expressing congratulation is universal, although it might differ from culture to culture.  When one hears about someone's good news, good luck or achievements, he or she congratulates them.  Expressing congratulations in English speaking countries is rather similar to how we express it in our country, although they might be more expressive.  For example, while we mostly express congratulations on phone calls, or through text about the language on our mobile phones, people in English often go to length to congratulatory cards or letters.  For example, when Indonesian is congratulated for their victory in a competition, they might respond by saying, "No. It is just a small-scale competition." Responding is considered polite because agreeing to the other person might be considered bragging  .  May people in English speaking countries also respond to congratulations by refusing it, but they mostly do it by expressing thanks.  They do so to appreciate the other people sincerity in congratulating them.  Congratulating other people for their success can keep a good relation with them.  They will feel that we care about them.  By congratulating someone, we are telling them that we are pleased to hear about them good luck or achievement.

·         Expressing Willingness, Plans, and Intention Using “Be Going to and Would Like to”

                We can use “will or (be) going to and would like” to express willingness, plans, and intentions. We use the special going to instruction when we have the intention to do something before we speak. Look at the these examples.

-          I have won $1000. I’m going to buy a new TV.

In these examples, we had an intention or plan before speaking. The decision was made before we spoke.

·         “Will” or “Be Going to”

Ø  Will

Will memiliki arti akan, pengertian will dalam bahasa inggris, will is used to volunteer or express willingness. Denga kata lain, will digunakan untuk menyatakan sebuah prediksi yang mungkin akan terjadi di masa depan, will juga digunakan untuk menyatakan sebuah aksi yang sukarela atau yang awalnya tanpa sebuah rencana.

 

Contoh :

I will help that boy (aku akan membantu laki-laki itu)

she will bring an umbrella to you (dia akan mengambil sebuah payung untuk mu)

 

Ø  Be Going To

Sama dengan will, selain digunakan untuk menyatakan sebuah prediksi tentang suatu hal atau peristiwa yang akan terjadi di masa depan, be going to berfungsi untuk menyatakan sebuah rencana atau ide yag akan dilakukan oleh seseorang di masa depan. Dalam bahasa inggris, pengertian dari be going to yaitu, be going to is used to make prediction about future.

She is going to succeed because she works hard (dia akan sukses karena dia bekerja keras)

Descriptive text adalah suatu jenis teks yang bertujuan untuk menjelaskan atau mendeskripsikan orang, binatang, tempat ataupun suatu benda. Umumnya, yang dideskripsikan adalah bentuk, ciri, ataupun sifatnya. Now, read the following text!

I’d like to tell you about my close Friend. Well, she is beautiful, attractive and trendy. She always wants to be a trend setter of the day. She always pays much attention on her appearance Recently, she bought a new stylist foot legs from blowfish shoes products. Those shoes really match on her.

Listen, her new blowfish women’s shoes are wonderful. When she are walking on that shoes, all her friends, including me watch and admire that she has the most suitable shoes on her physical appearance.

 

·         Writing Descriptive Text

Struktur dari descriptive text adalah sebagai berikut:

1.       Identification: pengenalan objek atau hal yang akan dideskripsikan.

Description: penginformasian ciri-ciri objek, misalnya sifat-sifat psikologis perilaku, tampilan fisik, dan yang lainnya secara spesifik.

 

My Senior High school’s building is not too far from my home. I usually go there by riding bicycle. I only need around 5-7 minutes to get there. Aside from daily routine in school which starts from 7 a.m. until 1 pm, at the afternoon I also go there to play or just to see basketball exercising.

 

2.       Description

My school is not to big like the other'school which has football field and auditorium. The main building only has 16 rooms. Each grade is divided'into 8 classes, so that because the school only has 16 rooms, the first grade starts the class at 1 pm. until 5 p.m.; the morning class is only for second and third grade. In addition to that, my school has also one basketball court, one lab, one hall which we call Pendopo, one mosque, one canteen, teacher’s room, toilets and parking area. One place that I love most at_school is the bench near a small pond. At the break time, I always sit at that bench and see the fish swimming.

Paris is the capital city of France. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It is also one of the world’s most crowded cities. Lovely gardens and parks are found throughout Paris. At night, many palaces and statues are lit up. For this reason, Paris is often called the city of light. Every year, millions of people visit Paris. The most popular place to visit is the Eiffel Tower. This huge structure has become the symbol of Paris. D’Louvre, one of the world‘s largest art museums draws many visitors. The Cathedral Notre Dame, a famous church, is an other favourite place to visit.

·         The Past Tense or Perfect Tense

The present perfect is a present tense. It always tells us something about now.

 ’Tom has lost his key’= he doesn’ t have his key now.

The past simple tells us only about the past. If somebody says ’Tom lost his key’, we don’ t know whether he has it now or not. We only know that he lost it at sometime in the past. examples:

 

1. Jack grew a beard but now he has shaved it off. (so he doesn’t have a beard now)

2. They went out after lunch and they’ ve just come back. (so they are back now)

Do not use the present perfect if there IS no connection with the present (for example, things that happened a long time ago).

Natural Bridge National Park

Natural Bridge National Park is luscious tropical rainforest. It is located 660 kilometers from south of Brisbane and is reached by foll'owing the Pacific Highway to Nerangand thenbytravelling through the Numinbah Valley. This scenic roadway lies in the shadow of Lamington National Park.
